Alaskan Widespread Fishing – Drift Boat
It comes as no surprise that the mighty Kasilof River is every freshwater angler's dream. And it's even better if you are coming to Alaska and have never fished before. With Alaskan Widespread Fishing Adventures, you are in good hands.
There is nothing more exciting and rewarding for Mindy and Reubin and their crew than seeing their client's face change from anticipation to exhilaration. This happens the moment that they realize they have fooled a fish, holding a fishing rod, while at the other end they see a living breathing catch! This sometimes life-changing event is something Mindy and Reubin, the owners and operators of the company, love the most.
The crew will work hard to make you feel like you are the luckiest person in the world. You will be exploring the winding waters of the Kasilof River, targeting trophy Salmon and Trout. You can use fly or spinning gear with bait and lures, going for trolling, casting, back-bouncing, and wading.
All of that happens aboard a 20' Willie drift boat, built back in 2009 and refurbished in 2016. This boat also has a trolling motor for a quiet ride, along with a cooler loaded with bait (when open) to make sure nothing can resist your hooks.
Your trip with Mindy and Reubin will include quality gear and tackle, along with fly fishing equipment, bait, and lures. Fishing licenses are something you will need to take care of, along with food and drinks.

We highly recommend him and Alaska Widespread Fishing — we can’t wait to come back and fish with them again!
We had a such a great time fishing with Luke! He got us to the fish and they were biting. We hope to return to the the Kasilof in the future as this was our second time and we never go home disappointed. We will book our experience with Reubin and Mindy’s team again. It was easy to book and was perfect.
Very fun trip! We were blessed with beautiful weather and our captain Steven was awesome! A lot of people had a thought day catching fish but we did better than most. He went above and beyond even having to play the role of first responder lol. All was great and it was an awesome experience!
Had an awesome time spending all day drifting. I’ve done a lot of fishing and have to say capt. Garrett is one of the hardest working captains I’ve fished with. He was constantly trying to find what the fish would eat, keeping us in holes that were producing and just genuinely being a great captain. Highly recommend! I will be back next year

Steven got us right on the sockeye. Enjoyed spending the afternoon with him.
Great guide and wonderful weather! We had an awesome time with Reubin, our guide. He worked hard rowing that boat for several hours. We had to let the King Salmon go as you can’t keep native fish until in July sometime. We had others bite but they got away. We recommend this trip to others who want to enjoy a peaceful trip down the river and hopefully catch some fish too.

Awesome

River put me on this 15 pound King Salmon. By far the biggest fish that I have ever caught in my 65 years! My trip of a lifetime was just that. Thanks to Ruebin Payne and his Crew for making an old man's dream(s) come true! P.S. (Note to self) Bring your boots or waders...

Although it’s not the fishing technique that I love, it was a nice, sunny and funny afternoon
