My dad and I went out with Alfonso and Martin on a 4-hour morning trip, and it was the highlight of our time in Playa del Carmen. Both of them were friendly, patient, and clearly knew exactly where the fish were. They had us on the action, and landed a huge grouper — the biggest fish I’ve ever seen caught. They handled everything for us, kept the lines in the water, and made the whole trip easy and fun from start to finish. If you’re visiting Playa and thinking about fishing, don’t hesitate — book with Alfonso. We’d go out with them again in a heartbeat.

This is probably my 10th trip fishing with Alfonso, and that alone should tell you everything. This time, we booked three separate 8-hour trips over three days, and this review is for Day 1. I keep coming back because of how much fun my friends and I have every time we’re out here. The energy is always great, the conversations are always good, and Alfonso and his first mate are some of the most down-to-earth people you’ll meet. They’re always going out of their way to make sure everyone is comfortable, having a good time, and getting the most out of the trip. And of course, the fishing is always a huge part of it. On Day 1, we came in with Spanish mackerel, barracuda, and snapper, and we’re already looking forward to the next two days. After coming back this many times, I can honestly say Alfonso and his crew never disappoint. If you’re looking for a captain and crew who know how to fish, keep the energy right, and make sure you have a great time, I highly recommend Alfonso.

What an incredible experience with Capt. Arcos and Martin! My son Blake and I went out fishing with them in Playa del Carmen and couldn’t have asked for a better day. We caught 7 fish, which was awesome, but what really made the trip special was how far Capt. Arcos and Martin went to make sure we had an amazing experience. They were fantastic with Blake, incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making the day memorable for both of us. You could tell they weren’t just trying to take us fishing—they wanted us to have a day we’d remember. The fishing was great, the crew was even better, and this ended up being one of the highlights of our trip to Mexico. If you’re looking to fish out of Playa del Carmen, I highly recommend Capt. We had an incredible day with Alfonso Tours! Alfonso and Martin were fantastic hosts from start to finish. They went above and beyond to make sure our family had a great experience, even tailoring the trip to our 9-year-old son. When we started feeling a little seasick, they stopped at a beautiful beach so we could take a break and recover. The fishing was excellent, we caught 6 fish in total. We took the fish back to our resort where they cooked it for us. They had plenty of snacks and drinks throughout the trip. Their knowledge, friendliness, and flexibility made the day both relaxing and fun. It was a day full of unforgettable memories that our family will cherish for years to come. We highly recommend Alfonso Tours to anyone looking for an amazing day on the water!

If you are looking for an unforgettable fishing charter, look no further than Alphonso Tours. I recently went out with them and had, without a doubt, the time of my life. The crew knows exactly how to find the fish and put you right in the action. We managed to land two massive Mahi Mahi—including a monster 45-inch Bull Mahi—and topped it all off by bringing in a 70-inch Sailfish! Reeling those in was an absolute rush. The entire experience from start to finish was top-notch, professional, and incredibly exciting. I can't recommend Alphonso Tours enough. If you want a world-class day out on the water, book them immediately. I'll definitely be back!

Captain Alfonso and First Mate Martin are among the best charter duos you can spend your day with. Fishing was hard (well, the fish didn't want to cooperate all that much) but we did manage to land a nice dorado and a nice sailfish. Alfonso and Martin worked relentlessly to try to put us on as many fish as possible, travelling many, many times in search of sargassum patches. There were not many to be had after the high winds the previous few days. While fishing was slow the day on the water was great. We very much enjoyed ourselves and the company of the Captain and First Mate. I would not hesitate to book with them again the future and know that they will do everything in their power to put fish on the line.

Alfonso and Palo are hands down the best people to book a fishing trip with in Playa del Carmen. This experience was the absolute highlight of our entire trip. They were both incredible hosts and went above and beyond to cater to everything we wanted. We booked a six-hour trip and, although the first few hours were slow with no catches, Alfonso took us to a beautiful snorkeling spot where Palo showed us an amazing variety of marine life. We had previously done a snorkeling tour in Puerto Morelos, but this experience from Alfonso’s boat was on a completely different level. On the way back, our luck finally turned and we caught a huge king mackerel, which truly made the day unforgettable. Once back on land, Alfonso cleaned the fish and we enjoyed an incredible feast together. The boat is well equipped, and both of them are genuinely wonderful people. If you’re considering a fishing or snorkeling trip in Playa de Carmen, look no further — Alfonso and Palo are the ones to book with.

As this was our first time out and my son's 16th, thought I'd treat him to this. Unfortunately the captains boat broke down the night before but was able to set us up with another. Alfonso was a very gracious host and Gustavo (other captain) was great. Leo, first mate was super knowledgeable. Ocean was a bit on the choppy side for my sons liking but once the fish started biting he forgot all about it. Cooked up the days catch at the Asi Restaurant which everyone loved and the other food we ordered was fantastic. Overall, cray awesome time, loved every minute. Will do it again next year. !! 🤙

it was a great trip. The captain knew where to take us to put us on the fish. His first mate was working the poles the whole time , everybody walked away with a smile on their face and fish in the basket.
