Who better to take you out than a local guide? Like most people in the area, Captain Martin has been fishing his whole life and boasts plenty of professional experience in the Sea of Cortez. Being proficient in English, he'll be happy to answer any questions, as he does whatever it takes to get you on the fish.
Up to 6 guests are welcome aboard the 30' Penn Yan deck boat. A light, yet powerful vessel, she'll whisk you off to the productive fishing grounds in no time. She's a professional fishing vessel that's been built with your comfort in mind, boasting an air-conditioned cabin with a bunk and toilet. All you need to do is bring some drinks and snacks and make yourself at home.
Get ready for a pulse-racing experience as you hit up the stunning reefs. These underwater networks play home to a range of exciting and delicious fish, giving you the chance to test your bottom fishing skills to fill the boat. Go after Snappers, Groupers, Triggerfish, Barracuda, Seabass, and many more prized fish, before heading back to shore with a delicious treat.
At the end of your trip, the crew will clean and fillet your catch, so you're good for food right away. They can even provide snorkeling gear if you request in advance, so get in touch and make the most of your trip. All Capt. Martin asks is that you arrive 15 minutes before your departure time, and away you go!

Captain Victor was awesome, The water was quite rough on the way out to the fishing grounds, but once there the sun was shining, the beers were cold, and we got lines in the water. Victoria, although his English was a little weak, was super attentive and made sure we were safe, having a good time and catching fish. I can’t say enough about our captain. We are definitely going to book another trip with him. Load up a cooler with your favorite beverages, bring some snacks/lunch and don’t forget the sunscreen. 🎣👍

Full Day Trip on May 18, 2024 • 4 adultsIt was a great time, spent a lot of time looking for that giant grouper with no luck. Our captain Victor worked his ass off trying to find them but they just weren’t bitting. The captain even let us stay out an extra hour pass our time in order for us to catch something to take home. No grouper, but plenty of decent size trigger fish and sea bass. Everyone at Federico’s charters was super nice, and they made it super easy for us. Captain Victor was super friendly, and helpful. This review would have been a 5 star if that grouper would have shown itself. Already planning on coming back to Federico’s charters.

Half Day Trip on March 25, 2022 • 4 adults • 2 childrenMe, wife and two teenage kids went out on the Irish mist with Captain Gaston and had a wonderful time. Caught over 50 trigger fish, rock bass, along with a few other species and smaller ones that were tossed back. Half day was more than enough, even for this time of year (late March). Seas were very calm with very little wind and temps in upper 70's. Still can get pretty warm in the sun though with sun reflecting from everywhere. Anyway, experience was well worth it and couldn't have enjoyed Captain Gaston more. Super nice guy!
