If you're going to cast a line in the Florida Keys, look no further than Type 1 Sportfishing. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Pete is prepared to put you on fish.
These waters are known for Tuna, Mahi, Black Grouper, Mutton Snapper, Yellowtail, Swordfish and more – with any luck, it won't be long before "Fish on!" On these trips, it’s common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
You'll step aboard a 39’ Contender center console with space for 6 passengers. It comes with Seakeeper, outriggers and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
Capt. Pete has rods and reels for you. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 15-20% tip is customary.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
Don't forget to bring bottled water, sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. So, make it happen, with Type 1 Sportfishing!

Captain Pete and first mate Syl did an amazing job putting us on fish all day long. When booking the reservation capitain Pete marked off 3 days during thanksgiving break mind you for us to go and fish in the case of bad weather. Then because of wind conditions moved our time in the day earlier. So booking is not a problem and they will make sure you have an amazing time out on the water no matter the conditions. When we got out onto the water our group asked a lot of questions which were always met with genuine passion and interest. I have done many characters in the past and when you have a crew with the passion that ours did it makes the experience 10x better. After 15 minutes of getting to the spot we hooked and landed a swordfish. Unfortunately Capitan Pete hurt himself but instead of ending the trip pushed through and continued to provide an amazing experience. We went on to catch a handful of mahi mahi and overall had an amazing time on the water. If you want not only to catch fish but also to really learn and have a great time on the water, this charter is for you. Thank you so much Capitan Pete and mate syl y'all were amazing company and amazing guides and I'm already thinking about my next fishing trip with this amazing crew!!

Hands down the best charter I’ve been on. Excellent communication, great gear and service. The captin put us on the fish and we loaded the boat.
100% as advertised. Captain Pedro and his mate Silvio were simply terrific. My family of four couldn’t have had a better time. We were on the fish right away. Boat was impressive and very well equipped. One thing is for certain, we’ll be back!!!! Thanks Captain!!

Great day with captain Pete and mate Jeff. Landed 6 keeper Mahi but at one point think we had 5 on... Started on wrecks boated a nice King right away then brought in a grouper who lived to fight another day by an inch.. We went offshore and ran in to 2 separate e big schools of Mahi The boat is immaculate and moves .... Great day

We have had a great day. The boat is an incredible offshore machine ! The captain never give up, and we have been searching the fishes all around, until we found them. Thank you for this very nice trip, the whole family enjoyed the day. I really recomend fishing with Pedro.

Captain was the best. Not hurry, he took his time for make us the best time ever
Had a great time! Fishing was slow, but that’s why they don’t call it catching lol
An incredible fishing day…. everything was perfect. Mr. Pedro Carvajal was very professional. 100% recommended.

Even though we didn’t land and sword fish the captain made sure we didn’t leave empty handed and helped us bring 10 black belly rose fish home with us. Captain Pedro was great with communication before the trip and a pleasure to be around would recommend to anyone

Had a great day! Had 5 guys and at one point we all had a Mahi on the line at the same time.

Captain Pete was great and his boat was imaculate. The day was windy, but we found some smooth water on the golf side. We caught more fish than we expected during our four hour excursion. Not all of them were keepers, but we were able to catch and keep plenty to feed our family for a couple meals. We’d recommend castaways if you want to eat what you catch on marathon. it was a great experience.

Amazing fishing trip! We had an incredible time, and the captain was absolutely the best. Friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience unforgettable. Highly recommend!

2 anglers from Minnesota took a 4 hour charter with Captain Pete. Rods, reels, tackle, fresh live bait and boat were all amazing. We caught multiple species of fish all throughout our trip. Captain Pete was a pleasure to go fishing with. Thank you Type 1 Sportfishing!
