Book your next trip with Apocalypse Fishing and find out what the fishing in Altmar is all about. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Nick is prepared to put you on fish.
Species like Chinook Salmon, Atlantic Salmon, Coho Salmon, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Brown Trout, and more could be biting if you cast your line at the right time of year. During the trip, you might be spinning, trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Nick also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
You'll be dropping lines from a 16' Hyde drift boat with a capacity for 4 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, along with lures.
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect. It's always wise to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

it was our first time coming up to fish for Salmon and Nick did an amazing job putting us right on them and giving us the best instructions to land our fish. we had an incredible day and learned a lot. can’t wait to do it again!
Nick is the perfect guide for a fishing trip. My son and I had a great time fishing under his guide. He put us where the fish were. He’s very experienced and knowledgeable . We had the best 2 days of fishing in a very long time. I highly recommend him. Great person for fishing and with family. 5 stars all around.
Nick put on an absolutely fantastic trip from start to finish. He was very patient, answered numerous questions we had about the setups we were using, and sent us home feeling as confident as ever in our ability to fish the Salmon River. Not to mention, he helped my brother and I each land a nice steelhead before it was all said and done despite some challenges from the weather.

Nick is awesome! My wife and i had a great trip. Nick treated us aweome and got us on fish! We would HIGHLY recomend him to anyone!

This was a 15th birthday trip for my son. Captain Nick was awesome. We had no clue how to use a fly rod, and he had us fishing like pros within 10 minutes. Took us about 30 minutes to get on the fish, and once we did we never stopped! We were catching fish until my son was so exhausted fron fighting these monsters that he had to tap out. The river was gorgeous, it felt like we somewhere in Colorado. Any time we had a snag or snapped a line, Captain Nick had us back fishing in seconds. Between netting our catches, tying our rigs and keeping us on the fish, he never stopped. We will be back again, maybe this winter for some steelhead!
My 15 year old brother and I took a trip with Captain Nick targeting King Salmon…and wow did we land some nice ones! Captain Nick was extremely knowledgeable and very familiar with the river and while we saw many fishermen around us struggling to land a fish, Captain Nick helped us bag and land some monsters! Can’t recommend him enough!!
Nick was great, and really knew the river. He was able to find fish in this really thin, early season water. Can't wait for dinner!

Nick was a great captain, had really good vibes . He knows the river and he knows how to put you on fish . I had the best luck out of everyone that day ! Nicks the man 10/10

Nick was a great captain. We had never even hooked onto a salmon before after attempting 3 times previously while shore fishing. Nick had us hooking into fish within 30 minutes of our first line going out, and finished the day hooking into 10. Couldn't actually land any in the boat as they all spit the hook just outside of net reach, but we had a great time regardless. Any questions we had Nick had an answer to. Even gave us a lesson on fly fishing as we had never done it before. Wouldn't hesitate for a second to book with Nick/Apocalypse Fishing again in the future!
