If you're ready to love fishing in Marathon, we've got you covered with 5th Generation Fishing. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Cole knows them forwards and back.

These waters are known for Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Mutton Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Blue Marlin, African Pompano Jack, and more – with any luck, you'll hook into a few!

You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Cole can also help you try kite fishing. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing and bowfishing.

If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!

Your boat for the day is a 29' SeaVee center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.

The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.

Don't forget to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

5th Generation Fishing will make it easy for you to go fishing in Marathon. So, how about booking that trip?

    Exceptional Crew

    3/4 Day Trip on July 12, 2025 • 6 adults

Cole was a phenomenal captain, driving the boat through rough seas with ease. We were always on fish wether it was in the reef or open water. Drake was always on top of the bait making sure we never had empty hooks and could spot birds from miles away. If you want a charter that'll treat you right and keep you hooked up these guys are the ones to do it!

    April, 2024

    3/4 Day Trip on April 17, 2024 • 4 adults

10/10 recommend! Was worried when booking because there was only 1 review prior, but this was definitely a 5 star trip! Cole and Drake were awesome! Both VERY knowledgeable. We caught a LOT of dolphin. I think we came short of the limit but only because we wanted to go chase some tuna. We could’ve easily hit it. Everyone was very pleased with this trip, even with the waves being 3-5ft. Capt Cole handled it very well. Will definitely be coming back in the future!

    What a great trip!!!!

    Half Day Trip on April 4, 2024 • 3 adults • 1 child

I have been fishing saltwater my whole life and have been blessed with a son that loves it as well. Today was his first ever trip off shore and I could not have asked for a better company and Captain to help me give him those memories. Cole was beyond professional, knowledgeable and his experience on the water was second to none. I never once felt unsafe and he took great care of us. We will be back and Cole you have a customer for life.

    3/4 Day Trip on March 24, 2025 • 4 adults • 1 child

Captain Cole was GREAT! he was polite, talkative and took us to his secret spot where we hooked up on some BIG king mackerel. He was very patient with us and helped to make our vacation a very memorable one. We would definitely recommend him and will be back again!

    100/10 recommend!

Full Day Trip on May 23, 2024 • 4 adults

Captain Cole is a great guy to be around and he had us on fish from the get go. He put us on schools and schools of mahi and was always one step ahead to ensure we got fish in the boat. From battling mahi and tuna, to chasing down sails, this trip will be one to remember. Highly recommend booking a trip with Captain Cole, you will not be disappointed. He even hooked us up with getting lobster tails after our trip.

Full Day Trip on July 17, 2024 • 2 adults

They promised us a great day of fishing and they didn’t let us down. They really know how to find the fish. Love the variety of techniques and came home with plenty of good eating fish. I would not hesitate recommending them! Great experience!

    Full day with capt cole

Full Day Trip on April 6, 2026

We had the best time fishing with capt Cole and mate drake! The boat was great and reliable and they are both very knowledgeable about what they do! We did a full day on the Atlantic and caught mahi, tuna and ended the day hooking a sailfish! Overall a 10/10 experience and would recommend this charter to anyone that wants to catch a lot of fish and have a great time! We will definitely be a returning customer!
