Lewestown Lady Charters is here to help you experience the stunning waters of Lewes.
Our 4-hour Shark trips mainly target Sand Tiger Sharks and Brown Sharks.
For Full Day 8-hour ocean fishing we target Flounder & Black Seabass in the summer. In the fall/spring, it is Tautog, Striped Bass, and Black Drum.
For the half-day bay fishing, we target Croaker, Spot, Trout, and more, which could be biting if you cast your line at the right time of year. On the day of your trip, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light tackle.
You'll be casting lines from a 42' sportfishing vessel with space for up to 12 passengers depending on the trip. For Shark fishing, it is a maximum of 6. It has outriggers, a fighting chair, and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
Capt. H.D. will supply rods and reels for you. Bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 20% tip is customary.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
Don't forget to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Any remaining balance paid the day of your trip at Fisherman's Wharf with a credit card will be charged a 4% surcharge. No surcharge if you pay with cash/money order.

4 Hour Trip – Shark Fishing on August 6, 2026 • 6 adults • 3 childrentrip was great! captin and crew were more than accommodating to my family of 3 young boys. we cought some fish not what we wanted exactly but hey we tried. and brought some fish home. only thing was not knowing we were not able to keep any sharks we cought would have liked to know that before i booked. next time i need to do my reserch better. but had a great time and would recommend the crew on any trip. thank you again!

4 Hour Trip – Shark Fishing on August 8, 2026 • 12 adultsFirst time booker on the app and also first time booker of a shark charter! Overall xperience was great! The Captain and forst mate were ey knowledgeable and helpful, however, the trip was not what I had expected. for a party of 11, only two rods were set up for catching shark and we also did not know we would not be allowed to keep any catch (our fault for not knowing regs). While the crew did set up 4 rods for small bait fishing (dogfish and sea trout) we had to request that and were lucky they had extra bait laying around to do that. Despite great weather, the day was extremel hot and the bat did not have a fan or AC. In a 4 hour trip, we caught 1 sand tiger shark and the kids caught 3-4 dogfish on the other rods. Overall a great experience, but not sure if this charter is a great idea for large parties. I would definitely book different charters with these guys again though.

The crew (Eric and Beau) were especially attentive to our boys. Beau, the first mate was so attentive - jumping in to make sure we had everything we needed - baiting the hooks, patiently waiting for us to get pictures with each catch, and helping the boys with holding the fish. Eric was equally engaged with the boys and taught them the names of all the fish they were catching. We tecommend this crew highly.

We originally booked for 10 people but some of our group backed out, leaving only 6. For a boat that can fit up to 16, it was great having it all to ourselves. Lots of room to spread out. Would definitely go out with them again!

We went on a shark fishing trip and at times it was slow and my youngest daughter was getting bored so they pulled out a regular fishing rod and baited it up and helped with that line. Mostly croaker, some sea bass, a couple trout and 1 small shark. We had something large snap our strings a couple times. We had 3 generations out there, and reconnected some old friends we're already discussing our next trip.

We were upgraded to Pappy’s Lady since Lewestown Lady was being worked on. Had a great time - caught croakers, a shark, an Oyster Cracker, black bass, sea robins.
everyone on the trup had fun and had some keepers. the captain and forst mate were very friendly and helpful.
