Southern Pro Charters
Book your next trip with Southern Pro Charters and find out what makes the fishing in Venice so unique. Your guide for the day is Captain Chad, which means you'll tap into years of angling experience.
Fishing around here will often see you targeting Yellowfin Tuna, Amberjack, Cobia, Mahi, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Grouper, and more, depending on conditions.
All trips are +fuel which means the customers are responsible for paying the fuel bill at the time of return to the dock. Average fuel bill is around $800 for tuna, it can vary on time of the year and the area we are fishing. Tuna tend to be farther out while snapper, cobia and grouper are closer in.
On the day of your trip, you're likely to live bait or troll and bottom fish using heavy tackle.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
You'll step aboard a 39' Yellowfin center console with a capacity for 6 passengers with all the essentials.
You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 15-20% to show your appreciation.
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don't leave home without sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
*Fuel is not included in the price of the fishing trip*

Captain had a boat issue early in the morning but rebounded after a short delay. He said that fishing had been rough for a few days prior and was somewhat apprehensive. So, we decided to follow his lead. We started off by catching bait and then targeting tuna. I appreciated the way he read the water and birds. When the signs were right he acted quickly and decisively. we filled our cooler. 10/10 will fish again.

Capt Pique and Zach gave us an experience we will never forget. Great environment and knew what they were doing. put us on Tuna. got a couple good keepers to start and then a Monster 195 lb Tuna. Our 10 hr trip turned into 12 becuase us fighting the Monster for 3 hrs. They never batted an eye. They actually apologized for running out of time for the Snapper we planned to hit. Trip of a lifetime. Thanks!!
The teamwork and ethic behind captain chad and his mate james, id say were unmatched. These guys kept us hooked up the entire time between mahi and tuna while other boats were eyeing us down ! great attitude and the environment was so easy going. definitely will be picking this guy every year !
it was a long ride out but we caught some bait and got to the rigs and it was on from start to finish captain and crew were very knowledgeable about what the fish wanted. we lost a few but that happens. i was very impressed.
Captain Chad had us on fish both days all day. the whole trip was great. I would recommend Capt. Chad to everyone who really wants to fish hard because he is goong to have you on them.
I got my husbad rhis foshing trip for his birthday. wr caught a lit if Tuna- it was aweskme. captain Chad and the other guy helped us all day. they were very patient and kind to us. they also picked us up at our houseboat the morning of. it was an amazjng experience all around. I would highly recommend Captian Chad and Roma to everyone.
Capt Chad and Roman were great and put me on the fish I wanted to catch! Got some nice Tuna, big Amberjack, and a trophy 50 pound Wahoo!
Tough fishing Chad got us on a big tuna. 140# in the boat only two boats caught. Chad is worth the cost.
Captain Chad knew exactly what he was doing out there. He had a solid game plan and executed it flawlessly. We were on the fish all day—limited out on Red Snapper, brought in Mangrove Snapper, Cobia, and even a few sharks. Non-stop action, great company, and memories made. Shout out to the deck hand, they both went above and beyond. Definitely a trip we won’t forget!

Started the day by immediately getting put on some yellowfin. Decided to fish for swordfish and within 20 minutes Chad and Josh had us hooked up. You could really tell the crew loves what they do by how much they wanted us to catch fish.
