This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

The weather was extremely hot and so was the water which normally is not a good combination for fishing, but the captain did everything he could to make sure that these kids had a memorable experience . Words cannot express how happy it made me to see my boys having a good time on the water and the fact that the captain went out of his way to make sure that these kids caught fish made it all the better. We come to Ocean Isle yearly, and this will be part of our tradition . Thank you Captain Billy for an amazing day on the water !

6 Hour trip on August 25, 2026 • 3 adultsWe booked a six hour off shore fishing trip and had a great time. Even though the warm water made it problematic, he found the right spots to find fish. We caught a nice sized Mahi and several large Spanish Mackerel. He then took us in closer where we caught another Spanish Mackerel using spooners. Captain Billy not only is an experienced fisherman, he is friendly and a great conversationalist. He took us to OIFC to weigh the fish and then cleaned them for us. We had a delicious dinner with enough for several more large meals. We will definitely book with him again.

After a nice ride just a short piece off shore he had our boys fishing in minutes. he was well prepared, knowledgeable and just an all around nice guy! Dont hesitate, take the trip with him, I’m so glad we did, and we will be booking with him in the future for sure!!

It was so cool and I will never forget it. Captain was all about making sure the kids were engaged and having fun, while teaching them about the fish and wildlife. He also made sure that we kept catching.
