Fish Hatteras is your ticket to the stunning waters of Hatteras. Your guide for the day is Captain Wes, which allows you to benefit from years of local experience.

Depending on conditions, you might hook into Cobia, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Spotted Seatrout, Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Sheepshead, Blacktip Shark, Black Seabass, Gray Triggerfish, Red Snapper, and anything else that bites. Depending on the species you're after, you may find yourself spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Wes also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.

Capt. Wes welcomes children aboard, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites to stay fueled throughout your trip!

You'll be casting lines from a 25' Southern Cross center console that holds up to 4 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is included if that is the technique required for the trip.

Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.

Don't forget to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Go ahead and treat yourself to a day on the water with Fish Hatteras.

Heck of a lot a Blues and Shark!

    Half Day Trip on July 17, 2026 • 4 adults • 2 children

We booked a trip with Captain Wes on the Fish Hatteras this July and it exceeded expectations. We started off trolling for Spanish mackerel, and my son landed the biggest one of the day. From there we headed into the sound near the inlet for some Bluefish. It didn't take long before we found them, the seagulls gave away where the fish were feeding and pushing the bait fish to the surface (Captain Wes showed us that trick). Once we were on them it was nuts, everyone was hooked up, there were so many, you could watch them darting under the boat. After getting our fill of Bluefish, we went in search of Sharks. We chummed for a bit without luck, but Wes got on the radio with other captains, found out sharks had been spotted nearby, and ran us right to them. We hooked into a spinner shark and it took off the second it felt the hook, it was a real fight to bring in. A hammerhead even cruised by while we were reeling it in. Wes clearly knows these waters and knows how to keep a trip full of action, which makes all the difference with kids aboard. Highly recommend, and we'll be booking with him again next time we're in Hatteras.

HUGE shark, Gorgeous scenery, one for the memory books.

Half Day Trip on August 15, 2026 • 3 adults

Captain Wes Parker took my dad, his good mate, and me out for the morning. We had the best time. I could not speak highly enough of Captain Wes. We caught a bunch of fish: awesome Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. We even caught a shark for fun. He works very hard to ensure we have a great fishing experience as well, just overall fun. Captain Wes is very knowledgeable about the area and about fishing. We can't wait to do it again. Captain Wes has a very nice boat, and he keeps it spotless. I would not hesitate and book him ASAP. We're going again in April.

Bluefish, shark and dolphins, and sand dollars!

Half Day Trip on July 30, 2026 • 3 adults

Wes is the best! Got us on some bluefish in the first hour. He maneuvered the boat and got lures in the water….kept us safe in some rough water and got fish in the boat. This Midwesterner couldn’t hack the rough seas so we checked out calmer water. Saw several dozen dolphins next to the boat and caught a glimpse of a large sand tiger shark. Finished the morning wading the Sound for shells and sand dollars. Great memories with my 2 daughters and something we’ll talk about forever.

    The perfect 1/2 day

    Half Day Trip - 12:00 PM on July 22, 2026 • 4 adults

Captain Wesley keeps a very clean boat. The second we stepped foot on board it was clear that he pays attention to detail. He was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. He worked nonstop to make sure that all lines kept fresh baits and had us on Fish in no time. I’ve been on many guided trips in this area… captain Wesley did not disappoint. We would highly recommend him to anybody.

    My 11yo Son’s Birthday present

    3/4 Day Trip on June 18, 2026 • 4 adults • 1 child

Captain Wes, was great. The fishing was tuff, as the other guides were calling him to see if he had found any fish. However, he soon put us on some quality fish, and my son had a great time and can’t wait to go again. We caught Red Snapper large enough we had to throw them back as they were over the legal length limit. Thanks again, We’ll be back!

    Second year in a row!

Half Day Trip on May 20, 2026 • 2 adults

Wes is a great captain both at finding the fish and making sure the day goes great. I am a returned customer from last year and once again, he did not disappoint. We started off targeting Sheepshead, quickly got a limit and moved to Spanish…. After that fill, we finished off with a boat load of Blues. Fishing with Wes will be an annual event from now on.

    Great day fishing!

    Half Day Trip on July 8, 2026 • 4 adults • 2 children

Had a great fishing trip. Thank you so much Wesley! Started with some rough weather but we hung out for a bit and was able to go! He not only provided us with great fishing also gave some good advice to my 17 year old son that wants to do what he is doing! We will definitely book another trip with Wesley the next time we are back!!!

    Great trip

    Half Day Trip on June 16, 2026 • 4 adults • 2 children

Captain Wes did a great job on a tough day of fishing. Our two kids didn’t like the waves on the ocean very much so he had to work hard to find us another option. Ended up catching a big Spanish Mackerel and some bluefish. He did a great job interacting with the kids and communicating every move. Would highly recommend this trip!

    Family Friendly Fun!

    Full Day Trip on June 11, 2026 • 4 adults • 1 child

Wes used his expertise to give our family an exciting day of fishing. We caught red drum and a stingray while also getting to see dolphins and a bull shark. At lunch, he took time to show our kids how to find sand dollars at a small island. He made the trip fun, not only for the adults, but for our children. We would love to return again!

    Amazing

Half Day Trip on April 11, 2026 • 2 adults

We booked an am trip. Captain Wes was early getting the boat set for us. We started out to the first couple spots they were hit or miss. We caught a couple sheephead. Then he thought to check out one more spot before we headed in. I am glad we did. It was a honey hole we got a bunch of nice size fish and my son got 2 worth a citation. ( a award for fish) . One was 10 lbs and the other was 8.7. I couldn't of asked for a better day. Thank you for the trip out. I would highly recommend.

Amazing Time!
Half Day Trip - 12:00 PM on May 29, 2026 • 2 adults

We had an absolute blast on this trip, and Wes was great! We didn’t have a chance to see a huge variety of fish which is just how the day was for fishing, but Wes made sure to go everywhere he could to make sure we got the best experience possible! And on top of fishing we saw - bunch of dolphins, a pair of manta rays, and a turtle which he allowed us plenty of time to gawk at! Thanks Wes for the best day ever!
