Old School Fishing Guide Service
Make the most of your time in Minneapolis and go fishing with Old School Fishing Guide Service. Your guide for the day is Captain Dave, which means you'll tap into their knowledge and experience. He may be old school but uses the latest and best techniques and presentations
These waters are known for Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Muskellunge (Musky), Northern Pike, Sunfish, Walleye, and more – with any luck, you'll hook into a few! Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. You're welcome to bring snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
You'll be dropping lines from a 19' Lund aluminum fishing boat with room for 2 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is not allowed.
Your trip with Old School Fishing Guide Service is just a click away, so why not make it happen?

I sought out Captain Dave for a day of lake fishing with my 11 year old son with an aim for catching Northern Pike and potentially Muskie. Captain Dave has tremendous knowledge of the lake and found great spots where we caught Northerns and Largemouth Bass. Conditions were fairly windy, but Captain Dave's knowledge of the lake put us in great position to catch some awesome fish. And don't let the name fool you - Captain Dave's boat is hardly Old School - he has amazing equipment to help locate ideal spots on the lake and nearby fish. The equipment that was provided was excellent. We had a fantastic day fishing with Captain Dave - the experience was tremendous, and Captain Dave is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. Highly recommended!
its like he talks to the fish! they were jumping in the boat my arms are still sore from reeling in those sea monsters! 10/10!
This was best fishing trip i have been on. Dave was very knowledgable of where to go and i had a fish on the line within minutes. We had a very successful day. We caught northern pike, bass and sun fish. Would highly recommend!!
Absolutely a Great Time! Dave knows where the fish are and keeps the action coming. Pike, Waleye, and Bass was my catch. Lots of Pike! For My first time fishing in this part of the Country it was Fantastic. Thank You CAPT Dave!
Captain Dave did NOT disappoint. Old School knowledge and dedication was evident from start to finish. He got me on my bucket list Northern Pike and I couldn’t be happier. Hire this dude!!

Captain Dave worked hard and got us on fish. Caught a number of northern pike and a couple largemouth bass. Will definitely charter with him again next time I'm in town.
