Victoria has a fish with your name on it, so let Ocean Dreams Charters help you catch it! Captain David will be your guide, giving you access to their sportfishing experience.
Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Halibut, Lingcod, and more inhabit these waters, depending on conditions. You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Don't forget to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Your boat for the day is a 23' Pro-Line sportfishing vessel that holds up to 4 passengers. It comes with downriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks available on board.

The sea was like glass, and we hooked into several fish, so a part of orcas and got to know, Captain Dave well. Of course the harbour sea lions welcomed us back, with great excitement, with the prospect of fish guts for lunch! Dave runs a very efficient and customer focussed outfit. I was quite in all of how close in to Oak Bay Marina, Victoria, the fish were biting. As a result, you don’t spend a long time voting out to the fishing spots. I’m always reassured when a ship’s captain respects our environment, as his first priority and who adheres to the Department of fisheries regulations. A huge thank you to Captain Dave. I will be back to fish the Victoria Waters, and Ocean Dreams Charters will be my first choice again.
