BCGS – Bassboat Trips on Old Hickory Lake
BCGS – Bassboat Trips on Old Hickory Lake has a trip with your name on it along the stunning waters of Gallatin. With Captain Brian at the helm, you'll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide.
These waters are known for Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, and more - with any luck, you'll hook into a few!
During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are also a good idea for a boost of energy when needed!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 20' Bass boat that can carry up to 3 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without.
You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, it may be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's never a bad idea to bring bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Brian changed my fish catching experience to my first tournament win on Old Hickory Lake. As a long time weekend warrior tournament fisherman, and newby to Old Hickory, I struggled to catch fish on this tough fishery. Brian helped me identify structure type and lure selection that changed the game. Whether you are looking for a fun day of fishing or improving your tournament success, tapping into Brian’s knowledge and expertise is a good decision. Brian is a great guy and fun to fish with.

Caught a variety of fish (Striper, Sauger, Big Mouth Bass and Kentucky Bass), enough for a dinner for three and left-overs for the next night. Our Captain, Brian, knew the area very well and we were catching fish on our first stop. Although the bite slowed towards the end we had an enjoyable trip. I hadn't fresh water fished in years and I was hesitant on what would shake out, but in the end I believe that I could bring my wife on a trip and she would enjoy it just as much as I would as our Captain was instrumental in keeping our rigs set right for what fish were hitting and helped with the occasional snag etc...
