Let Bay State Sportfishing organize your fishing trip and get a taste of what Massachusetts inshore angling has to offer you. Captain Ronnie has 30 years of experience, so you’ll hardly find a better guide to take you on new fishing quests.
Choose a half day or a full day trip and come aboard a 33’ Downeast boat, powered by a 550 FPT (Iveco) engine. The vessel can take up to 6 persons to the secret fish hideouts of Quincy, and beyond. She is loaded with all the comforts of home including a full head with shower, AC/heating, generator, refrigerator, coffee maker, a microwave, stereo, and plenty of seating inside the cabin.
On 8-hour trips, you will get out of the harbor, and go as far as 25 miles from the shore. You will catch live bait along the way, which will later help you to catch some big fish like Striped Bass, Bluefish, and Flounder.
Shorter trips are reserved for reeling in smaller fish, and you will also stay within harbor walls, which is perfect if you can’t dedicate an entire day to fishing.
Capt. Ronnie has first-rate rods, reels, and tackle you need thanks to our partners Penn and Pure Fishing. Most of the rods are custom-built and will be your trusty ally in reeling in massive fish. The first mate will also make sure that you’re prepped and ready to hook your next great catch, and he works for tips, so 20% gratuity is expected and appreciated.
Novices, families with kids, experienced anglers — everybody is welcome on Bay State Sportfishing. The captain will gladly share stories and a few laughs with you so that you’re not just fishing but also having a great time. Please note drugs are not permitted onboard and while alcohol is allowed, the captain may choose to end the trip early if anyone gets too inebriated.

Captain Leo + Mate Brad were totally ready to roll, every one enjoyed the day. Bluefin were not biting but we had a close up humpback show and got lots of haddock on the way back in. Definitely give these guys a try
Our time out on the water fishing for stripers in Boston Harbor with Capt. Ronnie and first mate were fantastic! Thank you for setting up our family of 5 with an amazing and successful afternoon yesterday. We each caught fish within the slot limit and will have at least one on the grill this afternoon. You guys topped off our July 4th weekend! Thank you again Capt. Ronnie!

Went on a 6 hr trip. 3 adults one child. Caught plenty of fish and and had an amazing time. The captain and first mate were incredible with my son. Everytime we got on a fish or a small bait fish they showed him and took the time to explain to him how to reel it in. The captain had us on fish within 30 minutes of leaving the dock. I would highly recommend them to anyone and I will definitely be booking a trip again
We did the half day. Caught a ton of fish and made amazing memories. Leo and his crew made the trip what it was, perfect!
An amazing trip with family, Capt got us on big stripers right out of the gate, his mate was spot on and hustled, fish in, lines right back out. Best striper charter I’ve ever taken. Highly recommended. Jim
Went august 31st, trip was a lot of fun, hard day for fishing but nonetheless really good experience with Captain Ronnie and Leo. Will definitely book another trip with them.

Caught HUGE fish. Capt. Ronnie took us to a nice area where the striper were jumping out of the water. The bait fish were plentiful that you can reach in and grab them with your hand.

Our party of 5 with minimal experience fishing and none offshore booked a 10 hour offshore trip for an August Saturday. We aimed to catch Bluefin Tuna and Haddock. We shipped out at 5 am, fished bait for an hour and then set up for Bluefin. One our lines caught a couple of Blue sharks which broke a couple lines and forced us to cut one. Unfortunately hit the slack current by the time we got the lines set up again so we couldn't land a Bluefin. We then pivoted and fished Haddock for the rest of the afternoon. Thankfully they weren't shy and we landed quite a few to take home. Captain Ronnie and First Mate Matt (his son) were friendly, competent, professional, and knowledgeable. They taught us how to handle the rods, fish bait (for tuna), rebait hooks, fish haddock. As beginners, we tangled lines quite a bit and didn't always pull up haddock, however Ronnie and Matt were patient and able to get us back to fishing quickly. Everyone in our party landed multiple haddock by the time the trip was over. The boat was well-maintained and clean. There's room below deck to store what you bring and the cabin comfortably handles 4 and 5 with a little squeeze. There are enough rods for everyone to fish at the same time, although you run the risk of lines tangling by nature of current and proximity. Overall I would strongly recommend Boston Harbor Charters to anyone looking to experience offshore fishing, new or experienced. It was a shame we couldn't land a Bluefin but that's life and it didn't diminish our experience. Maybe we'll be luckier next time!
Captain Ronnie and first mate, Terry were awesome!! Aggressive and put us on fish!! Highly recommended

We loved everything except not catching alot of fish today, we didn't even get to catch bait fish this morning. I would have to love to stay stationary instead of just dragging the hooks in the water while we watched.

Leo and Aidan were super friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They know the harbor well and we fished many spots would highly recommend for beginners or professionals
Great time with Baystate. We caught a bunch of real big Stripers
