Roatan, Honduras, offers one of the Caribbean's most diverse fisheries, where turquoise flats meet thriving reefs in the Bay Islands. This destination is celebrated for its year-round saltwater flats fishing, particularly for the coveted 'Grand Slam' species: elusive bonefish, challenging permit, and acrobatic tarpon. The east end's pristine turtle grass flats—especially near Oakridge and Calabash Bight—provide ideal habitats for these species, with less fishing pressure ensuring authentic encounters.
Beyond the flats, Roatan's deep-sea waters teem with action, including blue marlin, yellowfin tuna, and wahoo. The island's unique topography combines rolling rainforests with crystal-clear shallows, where anglers can also target snook, barracuda, and jacks. Accessible mangrove canals and thriving reefs further enhance opportunities for both fly and spin fishing, catering to all skill levels against a backdrop of unparalleled natural beauty.
Guided charters leverage local expertise accumulated over decades, navigating secluded bays and offshore hotspots to maximize your experience. Whether stalking bonefish on morning tides or battling pelagics offshore, Roatan delivers consistently rich biodiversity and unforgettable adventures.
