Marsaskala is a charming seaside town on Malta's southeast coast, built around a sheltered bay that offers quick access to rich Mediterranean waters. Its mix of calm inshore areas and open-sea drop-offs makes it a versatile base for anglers of all levels.
Book Marsaskala fishing charters to explore clear blue seas where you can target fast-moving pelagics in season, as well as hard-fighting reef species. Local crews commonly use trolling to cover ground for species like tuna and mahi-mahi when they're running, while bottom fishing and jigging around reefs, ledges, and wrecks produce strikes from dentex, amberjack, grouper, and barracuda. Lighter tackle and spinning near the rocky coastline can be exciting when baitfish are pushing close to shore.
Conditions are typically sunny with gentle swells inside the bay, ideal for family-friendly outings, while early starts open opportunities offshore when the surface comes alive at first light. With short runs to productive grounds, experienced captains, and scenic views of headlands and coves, Marsaskala fishing charters combine year-round action with the laid-back charm of a traditional Maltese harbor town.
