Spend the day with Papa Woody's Charters and let him show you what makes the fishing in Flaming Gorge so memorable! Having logged many hours on the water, Captain Eric can tell you all about the local fishery. I have recently joined Captain Dan and the team of guides at Cedar Springs Marina. Between all of our knowledge and experience you will have a chance at a trophy fish.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Lake Trout, Kokanee Salmon, Smallmouth Bass, Brown Trout, and Rainbow Trout. During the trip you might be spinning, trolling, jigging, or bottom fishing depending on what species you want to catch.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Child-sized life vests are available. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
Your vessel for the day is a 21' Hewescraft that can carry up to 4 anglers and has a heated cabin for those chilly days and brisk morning trips. It comes with fish finders, live scope, downriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures and bait.
Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray) and camera. Weather appropriate attire is required. There will be some drinks on offer, but you are also welcome to bring your own. Alcohol is not allowed.
Make your day complete and stop by the Snag Bar and Grill for great food, drinks, and to brag about your catch.

5 Hour Trip (AM)na maj 14, 2026 • 1 odrasla osobaI fished with Eric 5/14/2026. A beautiful day . Right off , at the dock I was impressed with his boat and equipment .Top notch , all well maintained. We started out fishing for Kokanee and were pretty much into fish all morning. Though I didn't keep track, I know I caught 20 plus . When a very large lake trout tried to inhale a Kokanee I was reeling in only to let go by the boat, we decided to fish for lake trout . In less than 15 minutes I boated a 33 inch 19 pound laker which I released and then a nice "eating size" 25 inches which I kept. All in all a great day. I normally don't do guided trips but Eric did a great job and I hope to fish with him again.

Then we went fishing for several hours and caught so many fish we lost count! Captain Eric was a great guy and his fishing boat was very impressive. We’re looking forward to coming back next year. Thank you for such an incredible experience! We highly recommend.

Fishing was fun, the scenery was beautiful, the boat was very comfortable and nice and the captain was very accommodating. I will be fishing with him again in the future. The entire experience was great! Highly recommended!

We spent the morning chasing after lake trout, that were big teases! We were only able to bring 1 on board before heading out to find the salmon and a quicker pace. It took us a minute to find them, but with his afternoon open, Captain Eric kept us on the water until we had caught our limit. The only bad thing about our day on the lake with Eric, was when our adventure was over. 10/10 would recommend booking a trip! Thanks for a fun day, Eric! See you in June for the sons trip, Denise 😉
